Open Conference – edX
With a focus on the development and use of the Open edX platform, over 200 developers, system administrators, and education specialists from all over the world attend this annual two day conference on technology and teaching. Exceptional Events took on the role of project manager; creating both the budget and timeline, guiding edX through the sponsorship process, and arranging all logistics and negotiating all contracts. The Open Conference takes place in both domestic and international locations.
Global Forum – edX
EdX, a leader in online learning, provides the best of higher education through courses offered by their institutional partners and members from around the world. This annual conference brings the entire edX community together for three days to explore trends in the industry, review latest research and facilitate collaborations. As project manager for the conference, Exceptional Events created and oversaw the timeline enncompassing all aspects of the planning process, arranged logistics for both the educational and social functions, and worked with the host site on needs around technology, print materials, and branding.
Celebrity Forum - Middlesex Community College
Annual fundraising event featuring well-known personalities raises money to support student scholarships and faculty grants. It includes a reception followed by a dinner for 350 sponsors, photographs with the celebrity, a speaking program and award ceremony.
Simmons Surgical Society
Five day conference in New York City, then in Boston, was for a national association of orthopedic surgeons. The conference featured educational sessions, tours of points of interest within the City, theatre, restaurants and spouse activities.
Financial Services
Appreciation events for retail financial services companies had both social and educational components. Exceptional Events was responsible for all arrangements including site selection, contract negotiation, catering, speaker logistics and sponsorship.
Lesley University
Commencement ceremonies for this University included over 1,000 graduates and 4,000 guests. Exceptional Events planned all of the logistics of the event from site selection and contract negotiation to communication with the graduates and choreography of the ceremonies.
ShermCo Investments
Meeting for this investment company featured a Bahamas location and included planning the logistics for accommodations, meetings, meals and leisure activities.
Women in Development of Greater Boston
Celebrating it's 25th anniversary, this association of Development professionals recognized the milestone with a signature event. Exceptional Events helped put together a luncheon for over 300 people that included award presentations, gifts for attendees, decorations and branding to tie it all together.
Simmons College
Commemorating the College's 100th commencement, this was a special celebration for their students, faculty and alums. Exceptional Events guided them through both a change in venue and format, as well as helping to make this unique occasion a memorable one.
